Introducing Yoga for Strengthening

These yoga classes are designed to help your physical recovery following the birth of your baby, as well as promote a more calm emotional state while you are suffering deep grief.

These classes are provided so that you can get the benefits of yoga with ease. There is no need for you to leave the house, no need for you to go to a class and interact with an instructor or other attendees if you are not ready to do so. All of the classes are free for you to download and can be done from the comfort and safety of your home. They are suitable for anyone new to yoga, as well as those who are more experienced. It is hoped that they will aid your physical and emotional recovery after losing your baby and after experiencing labour and delivery.

Warning: Always consult a health professional before starting any exercise and listen to your body. If you are under medical supervision, check in with your doctor before embarking on any exercise, including yoga practice.

Standing poses and Vinyasa Flow Yoga for physical strength and grounding with Claire Hawkins.

In this half hour video, Claire begins with standing Yoga stretches and guides you through a dynamic Vinyasa flow. This physical practice is combined with breath awareness and is designed to hep you feel grounded, restored and strong. You will get maximum benefit by beginning with Claire’s class on breathing for relaxation, but this standing, flowing practice can be done in isolation. This video finishes with a short period of quiet relaxation, and is designed to help you begin to rebuild – physically and emotionally – following the loss of your child.

Yoga – an all rounded class for wellbeing, strength and restoration.

In this clip, all of Claire’s classes (breathing, standing, flowing and lunar) are combined into one yoga class of 1 hour 15 minutes in length. Claire begins with breathing to calm the mind and encourage relaxation. She then introduces you to some simple Hatha yoga poses for stability and grounding and then guides you through more dynamic yoga flows to build strength, flexibility and energy. Claire completes this class with some gentle seated stretches followed by 10 minutes of guided relaxation to give you a chance to recuperate and rest. This class is designed to give you a longer and comprehensive yoga experience, and leave you feeling calm, restored and stronger – emotionally and physically – following the loss of your child. This class gives you a comprehensive set of yoga poses which you can do as regularly as you feel able at home to continue to improve and maintain your physical and emotionally recovery.
