Introducing Reiki

Reiki and its benefits

Reiki is an ancient Japanese method of healing that uses energy to balance the body and mind. The practitioner holds his/her hands a few inches over your body, over (you remain fully clothed on the couch) and may actually place hands on you while channelling this energy for your benefit.

Jo Rawlinson, Reiki practitioner, explains what Reiki is, it’s non-invasive approach and how it can work on physical and emotional states and help you to create the space to find peace and balance following loss.

Reiki and Physical Recovery

Reiki induces stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities (immune system), aids in better sleep and improves and maintains health. It can help with symptoms, speed up recovery from surgery and help in adjusting to any medicine/treatment as well as insomnia, anxiety, or stress symptoms.

Reiki and Emotional Recovery

Reiki is soothing and calming and can help alleviate mood swings, fear, frustration and even anger. Reiki offers relief during emotional distress and sorrow and helps in the grieving process. It cleans and clears the emotions, preventing them from being so draining and offers a clearer perspective.

There are no contra indications for Reiki, it’s perfectly safe for everyone.

If you are under medical super vision, check in with your doctor before embarking on any therapy, including Reiki.

Always consult a health professional before starting any exercise and listen to your body.
